Hands down one of the best collaborations out recently. Each of these artists brings a diverse sound in to create a truly expansive EP, Beak & Claw, out on Anticon Records. Just brilliant. And a great band for your buck. Get some!

The Do LaB, which catches an early installment of the Emancipator tour (kicking off tonight) feat. Shigeto & Marley Carroll, caught up with two artists to talk about the upcoming tour and why this line-up kicks ass.
From the article:
”Each of the three music artists on this tour brings a classically trained approach to their productions, creating a sonic stew of electronic and organic elements that offer rich, textured songs that are still dance floor friendly.”
If you slept on grabbing tickets for their 3/30 show at The Doug Fir here in PDX, alas they’ve been sold out for about a month now. But, if you can, don’t miss your chance to catch another stop on the tour!

bob dylan is well loved by LOTS of people, including roomie hejjmobejjmo. it’s interesting to consider, that after a really long (really) career, his first album really wasn’t very well received. in honor (?) of this, npr music, put together a list of 50 other first albums which were lost on us, for one reason or another. some of these are really surprising, some i wish had stayed (if only slightly) more esoteric. no matter where you sit on any one of these artists, the list is definitely interesting.
